Engagement couple standing on the Top of the Rock Terrace

New York City engagement session

Paulina and Marcin

When Paulina contacted me, I knew from the start that the engagement session and photoshoot for her and Marcin would be something special. They had decided to get married in New York, which might seem like an unusual choice for a couple from different parts of the globe. But their reasons were simple and heartfelt. First, they had been to New York before and loved the city’s unique energy and character. Second, there’s really no other city quite like it in the world.

During our conversations, Paulina expressed concern about the weather, which had been rough all week. It seemed like it would never stop raining. But on the last day of their stay, the sun finally came out and it was warm. We were able to do an epic photo session capturing iconic New York City locations. Despite the initial weather challenges, everything came together perfectly

New York lconic locations

Our schedule included four major city locations. We started at the Brooklyn Bridge, took a stroll through DUMBO’s cobblestone streets to capture some memorable photos of the brides and then hopped on the subway, which is the quickest way to get around the city during rush hour, to make our way to Rockefeller Center.

I kept wondering when we would catch the sunset – would it be from the Top of The Rock? No, the best and most golden light we had was at Time Square. Paulina and Marcin were ready, and we took photos with the yellow cabs, Time Square lights, and the crowds of New Yorkers passing by on their way home.

I forgot to mention that it was the longest day of the year – the Summer Solstice – and it felt like the sun was never going to go under the horizon. We were lucky! We managed to take some beautiful lifestyle photos, along with candid shots that captured the city’s mood.

The yellow taxi cabs waiting patiently for us at the crossing on Times Square were another symbol of this city. Paulina and Marcin were happy and full of energy, which helped a lot. We had a lot of fun!

Congratulations to both of you! Thank you for having me and sharing your great energy and smiles. I hope to see you again the next time you visit the city.
