Melissa and William chose Autumn for their Central Park Engagement Session – a timeless New York City landmark. You can’t go wrong with this location. During the weekdays, there are plenty of spaces to stroll and capture your candid moments. It’s also less busy with tourists, which gives us more opportunities to have a clean backdrop. A Perfect time of the year for Central Park pictures.
It is a New York photographer’s dream but a short time window. When planning your engagement pictures in Central Park, you must keep an eye on the ball. I will, too!
There are only two to three weeks to capture the magic. At this time of year, you can take advantage of the Autumn colors and the park’s architectural wonders. In the Fall, make sure to take a lot of different paths outside the main areas. This will allow you to have those golden colors and light shining through your pictures.
We started on the park’s west side with Melissa and William and headed towards Bethesda Terrace.
How long should your Fall engagement session in Central Park be?
I love Central Park as an engagement session location, especially in autumn. The backdrops are unlimited, and it is also way quieter than most of Manhattan’s spots. Week days afternoons are best. I know you might need to take a day off from work, but I promise it will be well worth it!
I usually aim for no longer than two hours of photos during the sunset and afterglow. It is enough to capture the essence of you as a couple. Thanks to a lot of movement, nature, and my posing tips, you will feel at ease.
Don’t hold back with your laughter. Be close to each other. Close your eyes and imagine that it is just the two of you, and no one is watching. Romance will unfold.
And remember – in the Fall, the sun sets behind the Manhattan buildings quicker. I’ll let you know the best time to start.
